You or your child may have been prescribed Vermox tablets, which contain mebendazole. It's part of a group of medicines called anthelmintics, and it's used to treat worm infections in adults and children over 2 years old. These infections usually include threadworms (pinworms) and other common worms like whipworm, roundworm, and hookworm. Don't be alarmed - these infections can happen to anyone, no matter how good your hygiene is!
How to use:
Adults and children over 2 years old:
For threadworms (pinworms):
- one tablet A single Vermox tablet will kill threadworms.
- Your doctor may tell you to take a second tablet after two weeks in case of re-infection.
For other common worm infections:
- one tablet two times a day (morning and evening) for three consecutive days or as directed by your doctor.
